How I plan to conduct my editing for Monay (March 31st) and Tuesday (April 1st) 

My goal is to build the 3rd scene structure (potentially scene 1/2 as well) of the film and focus on key sequencings, timing, and visual effects. 

Import and Organize Footage 

• Sort all video clips into their correct order (prom announcement, Alex reaction, Roxy yelling, etc.)  

• Reviewing the clip 

• Build a narrative flow 

Create the Rough Cut 

• Focus on the pacing of clips/trim unnecessary footage to keep the scenes from being extensive 

• Use cutting to create clean transitions between shots 

Basic Visual Adjustments 

• Correct any kind of lighting issues, unnecessary shadows, unbalanced light 

• Fix any shaky shot using Premiere Pro’s Warp Stabilizer 

• Apply basic color grading through clips to ensure it looks like a flashback in time/like a memory 

Reviewing the Scene 

• Watch the scene with my group and hear their feedback on pacing, transitions, and lighting. 

 

Following this plan will help me be organized while editing ensuring that I don’t overlap certain things or do things twice. This organization is also helpful as it helps my group understand what I’m doing each day, and if I need help, they know exactly what I need help with and where.

I noticed me and my group were severely hide on editing compared to many groups as we had just started our editing this week March 24- March 28, so I decided we needed to fix this problem. I thought of multiple ideas on what I could create to make to help guide my group into making a goal in editing each day. They ranged from a checklist to a online blog where we keep each other updated, but it seemed all it would take too much time, then I had the idea of making a schedule that was colored coded, which turned out perfect.

Overall, this has been beneficial as it has helped my group make our goals and catch up to everyone else. Also, this helped us to clear communication between each other and understand who is doing what on each day giving us all a chance to work on the project and do our other work we need to finish. We may have to stay after school some days but we're not for sure yet, but our teacher assured us if we need its completely fine with him.
